Strat worked well, second pet finished front pet off with one attack. So happy to have a strat featuring Left Shark as the main pet! Thank you so much! My husband has three left sharks, so was even happier than I.
Just a note that I'm in the process of doing the dungeon and the AOE method (at least for me) no longer stops the extra pets from spawning. They came as something of a shock, since I didn't know they were supposed to!
Did you kill the active pet before the backline? Both backline pets have to be dead before the active pet, or it doesn't work. I just ran this dungeon yesterday a few times, and the AoE worked just fine.
Something odd happened today that I need to test again. My number 3 pet was level 23. On the enemy pet's last round (their undead round), my Left Shark got killed. When the fight ended my number 3 pet leveled up to 25 (gained 3900 XP).
I'll try again next week to see if that's a thing or not.
If your active pet dies and you have non-25 pets in the backline, it will distribute xp to all remaining pets that can use it. It's why there are certain fights that use self-killing (Explode, Corpse Explosion, and so on) abilities so that you never have to do the level pet swap.
I used Syd the Squid as my first and Tideskipper 1/1/1 as my second pet. I haven't tried the Tideskipper as the first, but he seemed strong against all the undead damage. Used Clobber during the undead round. I didn't need a third.
I used Syd the Squid with Tidal Wave, Healing Stream, and Cleansing rain. and used Tidal x2 with cleansing rain and healing stream on CD after. I used that strat because the first 2 times using just the Left Shark Tidal wave killed front pet before the back line, and adding another heal into the rotation stretches out the fight more to allow the first critter to self heal via attack.
nice strat, first try it "failed" (had to kill all of them) but when u pay attention that the backup pets die first u win with this strat. even though it was close so bring at least one backup pet. cat familiar is nice
