Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

This is actually the strategy of Shadeol that could be used for leveling (doesn't work for leveling as it is anymore due to changes) so all credit to him/her.
I put Ash'ana just in case. Didn't actually need it.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

If Stinger is near death, skip using the script -- which would have you re-apply Stoneskin -- and just Devour the scorpid. >:) (edited)

Wow...Killer cat. Only pet i needed and he finished with 3/4 health still. Must have got lucky i guess

Qyana wrote on 2018-12-31 10:41:52

I found that the Feline Familiar's attacks were so insanely strong that I couldn't even make use of the heal Devour gives after killing an enemy with it. Enemy pets were still well over the health limit as indicated for using Devour and were already dead from a 2nd Pounce. Nevertheless, Familiar managed very well until into the third pet and then died. Panther Cub with Pounce finished him off.

Remember that Devour is 2 rounds of 384 Dmg so you don't have to wait until the enemy pet is under 384 but rather until it is under 768.

Solitha

Pounce does more damage than that, though - 801 if my math is right. Thus it's quite possible for Pounce to kill without the enemy ever being in range for Devour's heal.

Solitha

wrote on 2019-06-15 20:07:35

Nvm. My math was totally not right. It's possible for Pounce to crit, though, which could prevent you from using a Devour.

Solitha

wrote on 2019-05-26 19:50:16

While the strat works, it's a bit messier than it looks, as you may never be able to get off a proper Devour to heal with.

Ilyssa

wrote on 2019-06-12 11:25:50

You get healed if you start using Devour when the opponent has less than 769 hp left.

Solitha

wrote on 2019-06-15 20:02:51

Somehow I came up with 801 damage for Pounce. It makes more sense when math is right. I wasn't sure when I did this fight how the damage for Devour worked, though, either (was it that much damage total, or per round for two rounds) so clarification would be good.

It is still possible for a Pounce to crit, and thus keep you from reaching the Devour range.

Script:

ability(436) [!self.aura(435).exists]
ability(538) [enemy.hp<769]
ability(535)
change(next)

Moonie

Last enemy pet has Shield Shell aura, so it's HP has to be <624, otherwise you may miss the Devour heal. Its not really important, just my OCD:)

ability(Stoneskin:436) [!self.aura(Stoneskin:435).exists]
ability(Devour:538) [enemy.hp<768 & !enemy.aura(Shell Shield:309).exists]
ability(Devour:538) [enemy.hp<624]
ability(Pounce:535)

Solitha

I've never looked at TD before, but the idea of using Devour at all on the third pet bugged me, so...

ability(Stoneskin:436) [!self.aura(Stoneskin:435).exists]
ability(Devour:538) [enemy.hp<768 & !enemy(#3).active]
ability(Pounce:535)

Moonie

wrote on 2019-06-03 20:03:43

lol I like it...I hadn't thought the fight through, so yeh the Devour on the 3rd pet is of no point. :)

Pacmane wrote on 2019-04-04 02:56:34

The Zandalari Raptors work well here. Just use Hunting Party, Black Claw & Leap.
