Since the Moon-Touched Dragon is not available anymore and not everyone has it I came up with a strat in case you still wanna use this to level a +1 pet. Instead of another Blinding Poison in Turn 6 you could go for another Slap. However, this adds a frustrating amount of RNG to the fight and I do not recommend doing so. In one out of 15 attepmts it happened that Arcance Shot critted on Beaky and ended the fight too early. Not sure if that deserves an RNG tag, lemme know what you think. Tryed it on 9.0.2! Leveling pet gets rooted because of mudlside and gets killed.

If you do not have a mud jumper, a Hydraling will work as well.
i used 2-1-1
I followed the same strat as alt 1, i just replaced water jet with tail slap, mudslide with call lightning and bubble with shell armor. worked perfect.

Great tactic but it's way quicker just to swap to Chrominus after the level pet - surge of power one shots anyway and saves time since Mud Jumper only usually gets one hit in if he's lucky.

I had success with a level 23 Northern Hawk Owl (2,1,1)., Chrominius, and Teroclaw hatchling

1. Quills
2. Darkness
3. Nocturnal Strike
spam quills until first is dead.

I used teroclaw hatchling for the ancient tree thing which ended up killing my teroclaw, then i brought back my hawk owl and he did some damage but also died, then i brought out chrominius and he 1 shot beaky with a crit from howl and surge.

I'm a total noob though so it could have been blind luck.

I found that swapping Bubble to Turn 2 and Water Jet from then onwards works much better, otherwise, unless lucky, your Mud Jumper dies much too early.

Mh, this should not make any difference, since Sunny casts his heal on Turn 2. But I forgot in this one to add the Mudslide which makes the fight much faster! That is changed now :-)

Benax could replace the Mud Jumper, since it has the same skill set. Not having either at 25, I went with the Albino River Calf. Stoneskin, water jet until dead. I put the levelling pet in for one round against roots, then switched to Chrominimus. Bite to finish off Roots, then again for Beaky's round in the air, then Howl & Surge.

Syd the Squid (1/1/2) is another viable replacement for Mud Jumper or Benax. Take Cleansing Rain, and use it in turn 2 after Sunny uses Sunlight for extra damage on Water Jet. Then, Bubble in turn 3 and continue as Xu-Fu originally suggested.
