Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Works great in 9.2 if followed step by step. Typically you won't need a 3rd pet and RNG crits can cause it to fail but I had to repeat 8 times to get 1 loss so it seems quite reliable.

JR wrote on 2021-09-19 06:34:38

Unless you pass fight round this strat will never work thx for 9.1 patch and morons that break old codes

Thordros#1784

You can shave a few seconds off this fight's length—and improve its reliability to approaching 100%—with a few small changes in the Shadowlands Prepatch.

1. Pass
2. Curse of Doom
3. Haunt
4. Black Claw
5. Flock

That brings the fight duration down to ~59 seconds, and Prince Wiggletail is significantly overkilled owing to the extra Black Claw damage.

Here's a TD Script for those changes:

standby [round=1]
ability(Curse of Doom:218)
ability(Haunt:652)
ability(Black Claw:919) [!enemy.aura(Black Claw:918).exists]
ability(Flock:581)
change(next)

The Shadowlands update for this strat is great - the extra first 'nothing' move definitely needed to be incorporated into the strategy - the 'Pass' move at the beginning cancels out at least the first round of the Prince's "Dodge" in Round 4 - otherwise, your "Black Claw" won't hit, then you won't get 'Shattered Defences' from "Flock" in the next round either, so you won't get the extra damage off "Curse of Doom," and then... DEAD. (edited)

JR wrote on 2021-09-19 06:33:57

this strat works unlike the one posted above, if you don't pass first ikky can't do crap and dies before wiggle even gets to half health.

No longer works as of 10/29/20. tried fight 3 times with tdscript. Died every time

wrote on 2020-10-29 20:03:13

Same here, I couldn't get it to work at all in the pre-patch on 10/29. I tried with both the TD script and manually and couldn't get a win. I was able to manually go back to Unborn Val'kyr and use the third pet to make a win out of it but it wasn't anything like it used to be.

IF you don't have any of the birds, any of the rabbits will work with stampede.

Alauraa#2331

wrote on 2020-03-27 11:12:33

Í've used this strategy since the beginning of nazjatar and now it doesn't work for me anymore. Prince Wiggletail keeps spamming Dodge so much that almost everything I cast misses. including two flocks while he nukes my Ikky, I've barely managed to do it with Blighthawk as my third pet(121)

Gráinne

wrote on 2020-03-27 14:04:38

I just tried it, and logged it. Nothing unusual. Prince Wiggletail Dodges on Round 4, too late to avoid the first round of Flock. He does avoid the second, on round 5, but gets hit by it again, and then by CoD, on Round 6. Then the final Haunt tick finishes him off.

Are you maybe trying to get a Black Claw in before the Flock, out of habit, or something?

Anyway, if you are seeing something else, post a log of the battle, and someone will take a look!

Alauraa#2331

wrote on 2020-03-27 16:08:22

Aah, I see my mistake, I had Unborn Val'kyr on 121 instead of 221, which made the script never use the first ability. I just got into using TD Scripts.

Spacemunkey wrote on 2020-01-03 19:53:07

Horrible strat completely rng

Gráinne

wrote on 2020-01-03 22:42:28

I've been using it since Nazjatar was launched, and it has never failed for me, so I think we would need a lot more than your exquisitely non-specific comment to believe you.

Start by specifying the breed of Valk you used, then where exactly the battle deviated from expectations. Ideally, post a log. Then we might have something to at least think about.

Tacto#2341

wrote on 2020-01-27 06:09:50

Worked fine for me the 3 times I've used it.

Shiney79 wrote on 2019-12-11 06:39:40

The Shadow Shock on the first turn seems a bit superfluous, I never use it and still win without needing to bring the third pet in.

lilianne@nagran wrote on 2019-12-23 06:09:56

The Prince dodges on turn 4/5 so that casting curse a round too early doesn't damage.

Jacatola wrote on 2019-07-31 21:53:24

This didn't work for me, when Ikky died Wiggletail still had over 50% health. I have a H/H Val'kyr maybe a B/B is required

Thrashnsmash

wrote on 2019-11-04 13:44:44

Same for me - have a H/H Val'kyr and Ikky died leaving 50% health. Tried 3 times, all failed.

Palathos wrote on 2019-09-29 11:09:36

Can swap in a level pet (preferably Magic, I used a lvl 15 pet, got 396 xp) between the 2 pets.

blistering cold, bonestorm, chop, (boneshard dies)
black claw, flock Prince dies, even with him dodging once he died.
